What we do

Turn your carbon liabilities into certified, investable projects

CO2Tech combines 20+ years of field-proven CCS science from the Otway International Test Centre with an independent, vendor-neutral advisory — from first feasibility, through to regulatory approval and MMV certification. We work alongside engineering and project delivery firms as the independent expert voice that no contractor can provide.

Research-backed, not sales-driven
Our advice flows from 20 years of real injection data at the Otway Test Centre — not from selling engineering contracts, FEED packages, or equipment. Science first, always.
Image
Genuinely independent
We have no parent company technology interests, no licensor alliances, and no project delivery revenues. Our only commercial interest is your best outcome — making us the advisor regulators, lenders, and governments trust.
Image
Australian depth, global reach
Unmatched Australian CCS regulatory credentials plus demonstrated advisory across Asia, India, the US, Canada, and Europe — in markets most advisory firms are only beginning to enter.
Client types

Who we serve

CO2Tech works with four distinct client types — each requiring independent CCS expertise that project delivery firms are structurally unable to provide.
Operators & developers
Oil, gas, and industrial operators needing independent storage assessments, MMV plans, and regulatory submissions they cannot commission from their engineering contractor.
Hard-to-abate industries
Cement, steel, fertiliser, LNG, and refining facilities facing Safeguard Mechanism obligations who need vendor-neutral capture technology selection and cost estimation.
Government & regulators
State and federal agencies commissioning independent technical reviews, expert regulatory pathway studies, and credible assessments to underpin policy decisions and permit approvals.
Investors & lenders
Banks, fund managers, and development finance institutions requiring SRMS-compliant storage certifications and independent technical due diligence for CCS project financing.

Independence

Why independence is non-negotiable for CCS

The four situations where only a genuinely independent advisor can do the job.
Regulatory submissions require a third party
The Clean Energy Regulator, NOPTA, and state agencies require independent expert reviews and competent person certifications. Your engineering or project delivery contractor cannot sign off on their own work — that creates a structural requirement for CO2Tech.
Project financing demands objectivity
Banks and development finance institutions insist on independent technical advisory (ITA) for CCS projects. SRMS storage certifications for ASX disclosures must come from a recognised independent — not a firm earning delivery fees on the same project.
Capture technology selection needs no vendor bias
When your advisor has alliances with specific capture technology licensors or generates revenue from engineering delivery, there is a structural incentive to recommend those technologies. CO2Tech has no such relationships — our recommendations are always in your interest.
Government commissions require credibility
State and federal agencies need expert advice untethered from any commercial project interest. CO2Tech has delivered independent advisory directly to the SA Government, NOPTA, and the Clean Energy Regulator — establishing a level of institutional credibility no contractor can match.
Credentials

Selected credentials

CO2Tech has had the privilege of working with Australia's largest CCS pioneers.
